about remnant
-
Every story has a beginning… For Remnant, that beginning was not a church service, a launch team, or a strategic plan. It was a hunger.
In 2014, what would eventually become Remnant Chicago began as an annual revival gathering. People from different backgrounds and church traditions came together with a simple desire: to encounter God, experience His presence, and be awakened to His love.
Year after year, those gatherings became sacred spaces where lives were changed, relationships were restored, and people discovered that Jesus was far better than many had been taught to believe. What started as an event slowly revealed itself to be something more. God was forming a community.
As the years passed, a vision began to emerge. We sensed the Lord calling us to create a place where people could gather regularly around His presence, grow in authentic community, and learn to live from their union with Christ. A place where worship would be genuine, questions would be welcomed, transformation would be expected, and Jesus would remain at the center of everything.
Today, Remnant Chicago exists as the continuation of that story.
We gather because we believe God is still speaking, still healing, still transforming lives, and still drawing people into deeper communion with Himself. We believe Jesus perfectly reveals the Father, reveals humanity, and reveals the life we were created to live.
Our story is ultimately not about a church.
It is about people awakening to the reality that they are deeply loved by God, invited into His family, and empowered to participate in His Kingdom.
We have one agenda, and His name is Jesus.

At Remnant, we strive to create a safe house for people from every walk of life.
Whether you are new to faith, returning after a difficult season, exploring Christianity, questioning long-held beliefs, deconstructing unhealthy religious experiences, or have followed Jesus for decades, you are welcome here.
We are a presence-centered community that gathers around Jesus. Through worship, prayer, Scripture, and authentic community, we create space to encounter God and receive what He desires to do in and among us. We believe transformation happens when people experience His love, hear His voice, and awaken to their true identity.
We value meaningful relationships and believe church is more than attending a service—it is learning to walk together as family. Our desire is to cultivate a culture of honor, grace, belonging, and spiritual growth where people feel seen, known, and encouraged.
Our prayer is that every person who encounters Remnant would experience the love of the Father, the grace of Jesus, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and the joy of becoming fully alive.

The Presence of God
As a congregation, our connection to God is central to everything we do. We believe that "in Him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28). His presence is not merely something we seek on Sundays; it is the atmosphere in which we live.
Love
Love is our foundation. We seek to love God and love people without conditions, agendas, or strings attached. We believe love is the highest expression of the Kingdom and the clearest evidence of spiritual maturity.
Honor
We reverence God and esteem His glorious creation. Every person carries inherent worth, dignity, and value because they are made in His image.
Generosity
Freely we have received, so freely we give. Generosity is our response to the extravagant grace of God and our desire to reflect His heart in the world.
Community
We were never designed to do life alone. We are more than a congregation—we are family. We believe life is better together.
Transformation
Following Jesus is more than attending services. It is an ongoing journey of becoming more and more like Christ in every area of life.
Empowerment
We desire to help people discover their God-given purpose and equip them with the tools, confidence, and support needed to make a meaningful impact in the world.
Innovation
The Creator of the universe lives within us. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we seek creative solutions that bring hope, healing, and Kingdom influence into every sphere of society.
Excellence
Giving our best honors God, inspires people, and reflects the value we place on the gifts and opportunities He has entrusted to us.
Joy
Our joy is rooted in the goodness, faithfulness, and steadfast love of God. It is not dependent on circumstances but flows from the reality of His presence with us.

We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as the only Savior of the world who died for the sins of all men and at the cross forgave and reconciled humanity. He is The Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten from the Father before all ages, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made; of the same essence as the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven; he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary, and was made human. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried. The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
We believe the scriptures are the constitution and by-laws for Kingdom living in the world. They point to Jesus who is The Word of God and The Living Logos, teaching us by the grace of God and the empowering of the Holy Spirit, to live Godly and Christlike in every generation.
We believe in the tri-unity of God, who demonstrates His love through the Father's heart, the Son's finished work, and the Holy Spirits comfort and empowerment.
We believe that miracles and the Gifts of the Spirit are for today, and that divine healing, through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ is completed through the finished work of the cross and that the Father desires for us to live life to the full and to prosper in every area of our lives.
We believe in The Resurrection of Jesus from the dead and that He is returning as He promised. We hold to an optimistic and victorious eschatology, believing that, of His government and peace, there will be no end and that He is making all things new.
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ on the earth, led by the five-fold ascension gifts, preparing the church to do Kingdom service, and to become the son's and daughters of inheritance to reap the nations, and connect Heaven to Earth.
We believe that salvation manifests in our lives by grace, through faith. Believing removes the lie of sin and separation that was in our minds. This belief awakens our Spirit, allowing us to enjoy all the benefits of the finished work, through growing in grace and maturity by the renewing and transformation of our minds.
